For Monday we created a stop motion video.
first we made a story board with our group.
Next we made our characters from clay.
After they dried we coloured them in.
Finally, we made out stop motion video.
One person had to hold the iPad still and our hands away while the other person had to
move the characters little by little.
The challenging thing was holding the ipad still and moving the characters we made.
Have you ever done a stop motion before?
For Monday Mashup I was with Urmi we did a stop motion. For last week’s Monday Mashup we paired up in a group of 2 or 3 I paired up with Aylah.. To make the characters for the stop motion we used Air dried clay we also used a tooth pick and a popsicale stick to connect the body parts together and would dip the popsicale stick in water it helped a lot. Today we drew with markers on the clay because if we painted it would take to long. We then made a dungeon and a castle made out of Lego it took a bit because it kept falling apart I felt super frustrated but I just took a few breaths to calm down and kept going. After that I felt much more better.

We made a Rowing Machine for Epro 8. Me and my Team had lots of fun even though it was hard
I worked with Aily, Olivia and Alira.
A challenge was to make sure it worked just right we had to make a couple changes but it worked out in the end.
A success was getting to finish it just in time and working as a team.
I would do it again if I had to because it was lots of fun and we had good cummunacation with my team and had great team work.
I worked with my team by cumunacation and giving 2 people a job and the other 2 people with another job it worked great. When we where done with the thing we where doing like me and Olivia where doing the bottom with a seat we could sit on while Alira and Aily worked on a tower. Then we connected them together once we where done then we added a few things then we fixed a few mistakes and we where done and I think we did a really job and we finished just in time.

Last week we went to Living Spring for 3 days.
Camp was lots of fun
We did lots of activities but I chose to draw one of my favorite activity that we did at Living Spring.
Some of my favorite activities were bouldering, mountain boarding, archery tag and lots more but I chose to do bouldering because it was fun. I liked playing around the world were we had to try go around the whole wall of rock climbing. Have you ever tried bouldering?
Today in inquiry we were learning about the Sun. We did an experiment to model how the Sun produces light and heat.
We used a tray, lighter, alcohol, icing sugar and baking soda. We also used the sand from the sandpit to make a mountain and a hole in the middle. We put the icing sugar, alcohol and baking soda in the hole.
When we went to light the flax on fire for the experiment it failed again, and again, because the wind blew it out. The same thing happened again with a dried leaf so we got some paper, but it failed again. We tried it again with the paper and it worked.
What I saw when the paper got lit I saw it make a fire and it grew bigger and bigger it was cool and the fire was very bright.
Then I saw the icing sugar, baking soda and the alcohol turn into charcoal.
It smelt like burnt marshmallows when you catch the marshmallow on fire and it burns.
It happens because when the sugar is heated it releases energy and heat and pushes out the gases, just like the sun.

For literacy we have been working on a diorama of the book that we’ve been reading. The part of the story was were doing the part when the boy and his father were they were looking for gold in the river and when they found a lot of little flakes of gold. We first had to get a shoe box to make the diorama when we got the shoe box and we started the diorama then we got 2 pieces of black paper and got glue to glue it to the box for the night sky.Next we got some paint the colours we used were blue and green after we tried making a house but then we decided when the clay dried we would make a path but while we waited for it to dry we made a river were the boy and his father found the gold. Lastly we got something to make a tree and got some rocks and flowers.
we are learning how to write tap sentences in Te reo maori the ones I did were Kai Te kanikani a Rachel in English, it is Rachel is dancing. Kai Te Moe koe and in English it is, I am sleeping. Kai Te waiata ahau and in English it is, I am singing and then the last one i did was Kai Te noho Te kuri, The dog is sitting.
Today I have been working on poly pad so I can add decimals by adding more to make the other side equal. I found out that 0.5=0.167+0.333. This helped me work out what the answer was to 0.5.
